Let's examine the toolbar.
First steps - Heading
First steps - Subheading
First steps - Minor heading
First steps - NormalVery similar to Word. I don't think I will have problems with it.
Let's see how to add a photo.
Done. This building is the Hungarian Parliament in Budapest. I come from this beautiful city.
I inserted a jump break. What is it for? Let me see. If everything is OK, "Read more" will appear here.
I'd like to be able to use a spell checker because it is quite annoying that everything is underlined red in the editing mode. Firefox offered me to download the English language pack. Done. And I can see
that "copy and paste" works OK.
school shool
Everything is underlined red. I clicked on the ABC icon and the word containing the spelling mistake became yellow. Does that mean that I can use the spell-checker? If so, why is everything still underlined red? No idea.
Let's try it again. Ctrl+A then Check spelling icon. Still everything is underlined and there are 5 yellow words: customizing, blog, Firefox, shool and Ctrl. OK. But still I can see the red line. Why?
Why don't I consult the help menu? Yes, I like exploring things myself. :-)
As I can see I still can't use "Jump break". I consulted the Help page and followed the instructions but without any positive results. :-(
ReplyDeleteIt works!!!! I wasn't patient enough. It needed time. (Perhaps)
DeleteI still can't see how posts and pages are related. What is a "Page" good for?
ReplyDeletein blogs, pages are usually "static" while the blog posts are "dynamic." Dynamic blog's old posts will go to the bottom and then disappear from the main page when new posts come and push them out. Pages can contain information that won't be outdated (such as About Me page)
ReplyDeleteSo what shall I write then every week, posts or pages? I think posts but I am still not totally clear.
DeleteWhat are the course expectations?
Hi Linda: You'll want to add "posts" every week, though if you used pages it would be okay too, just harder to find the new ones.
ReplyDeleteI like that you are using this blog as a "sandbox", a place to play around, test things out and learn. I sometimes say this is like taking a car for a test drive before you buy it. I think this is the funnest part about learning a new tool, the discovery stage, seeing what it can do.
I hope you have fun with it! -Robert
